The Caregiver's Bills of Rights
BRAIN HEALTHRELATIONSHIPS

I have the right to prioritize my safety—physical, emotional, and spiritual.
I have the right to feel angry, sad, frustrated, or numb—and to express those feelings safely.
I have the right to say “no” without explaining myself.
I have the right to ask for help without shame.
I have the right to rest, to laugh, and to live.
I have the right to set boundaries and enforce them.
I have the right to grieve—before, during, and after their decline.
I have the right to protect my peace, even if others don’t understand.
I have the right to be more than a caregiver.
I have the right to let go when staying becomes too much.
